Certifications & Training

Part of my evolution as a therapist has been learning what areas of specialization cater to the unique needs of my client populations. As a mental health professional for nearly a decade, I have become adept at working with couples and individual clients that experience functional impairment due to the impact of a number of mental health diagnoses including (but not limited to): Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Some of my training and certifications that cater to the needs of these diagnoses include:

  • Advanced EMDR Skills
  • Advanced CBT Skills
  • Motivational Interviewing Skills
  • The Gottman Method (Couples Therapy)
  • Internal Family Systems Training
  • Executive Function Coaching Certification
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy Skills

I also offer animal-assisted therapy and walk & talk therapy when clinically appropriate. Walking, a bilateral activity, stimulates both sides of the brain and body, which can help regulate the nervous system and promote emotional processing and relaxation. Dogs can also be very helpful in therapeutic settings, offering a variety of benefits to patients. They can reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, and help facilitate communication and emotional expression.
